Tesco/Homebase Public Inquiry - update

Updated: Aug 7, 2022

Friday 3 June 2022

The public inquiry resumes in-person at Hounslow House on Monday 26 September 2022 at 9.30 am with 3 days devoted to heritage evidence. Following the discussions during day 10, it will involve very detailed examination and cross-examination of the level of harm accorded to heritage assets by the various parties. There will also be a roundtable discussion on Character and Appearance on Wednesday afternoon 28 September or Thursday morning 29 September. The inquiry will finish on Friday, 30 September, when all 4 parties will give closing statements in the following order: OWGRA, Historic England, Hounslow Council and Berkeley St Edward. Each closing statement will last between 1 and 1.5 hours.

We expect the Inspector to complete her report by the end of 2022 and for the Secretary of State to make his decision on these planning applications in spring 2023.
